The Dreamtech Linerlock Micarta Black/Red is a mid-size folder with a D2 blade. It measures 4.25in closed with a 3.25in blade, which is about the sweet spot for daily carry. A thumb pull opens it one-handed.
The blade is D2 tool steel in a bead blast finish. D2 is a semi-stainless, and that distinction matters. For a start, it holds an edge considerably longer than the budget stainless steels. It is also tougher than most. That said, it is not fully rust-proof, so it wants wiping dry rather than leaving damp. The drop point grind gives a strong tip and a useful curve for slicing.
The Dreamtech Linerlock Micarta Black/Red has a black and red micarta handle. Micarta is layered fabric set in resin. As a result, it grips better as your hands get damp, which is the opposite of most smooth materials. An extended tang, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip complete it.
Wipe D2 dry after wet work and give the pivot a little oil. That is all it needs.
In short, this is a lot of knife for the money.
