The Mtech Linerlock A/O Oxidized is an assisted-opening folder with a tanto blade. Push the thumb pull or the extended tang and the blade snaps open. The liner lock then holds it there until you release it.
The blade is 3Cr13 stainless, 3.5in long, ground to a tanto point. A tanto puts a lot of steel behind the tip. As a result, it stands up to piercing and scraping better than a fine clip point. The oxidized pattern runs across the blade and the bolster too. So the finish is the point of this one as much as the shape.
The Mtech Linerlock A/O Oxidized has a black stainless handle. Steel handles feel more substantial in the hand than aluminum. They also take a knock without marking easily. A lanyard hole and a pocket clip are both fitted.
Care is easy. Dry it off after wet work, and oil the pivot occasionally so the assist stays quick.
In short, this is a striking budget folder. It suits anyone who wants a tanto with a finish that stands out.
It arrives boxed and ready to carry straight out of the packaging.
