The Falcon Linerlock A/O Aluminum Black is the plain working member of the Falcon range. There is no artwork here. Instead you get a black knife that gets on with the job. It measures 5in closed with a 3.75in blade.
The blade uses 440 stainless with a black DLC coating and a drop point grind. DLC stands for diamond-like carbon. Because of that, it acts like a hard surface treatment rather than paint. For a start, it resists scratching. It also cuts down glare in bright light. Meanwhile the drop point shape stays the safe all-rounder, because it gives you a strong tip and enough belly to slice properly.
The Falcon Linerlock A/O Aluminum Black uses a black textured aluminum handle. As a result, it weighs less than the steel-handled knives in the range. In addition, the texture gives you grip in the wet. An extended tang opens it one-handed. It also has a lanyard hole and a pocket clip.
Care takes seconds. So dry it after wet work, and then oil the pivot from time to time.
In short, pick this one if you want a Falcon to use rather than to look at. It arrives boxed, and it goes straight in the pocket.
