The Dreamtech Button Linerlock Blue Micarta is a mid-size everyday folder. It runs 4.25in closed with a 3.25in blade. The thumb pull gets it open with one hand, and the lock holds it firmly once it is out.
The blade is D2 tool steel with a bead blast finish. D2 sits above the common budget stainless steels for edge holding. For a start, it will cut for noticeably longer between sharpenings. It is also a tough steel that resists chipping. The catch is that D2 is only semi-stainless, so it does want drying off rather than being left wet. The drop point shape is the reliable all-rounder.
The Dreamtech Button Linerlock Blue Micarta has a blue and green micarta handle. Micarta is fabric layered in resin, and it is one of the few handle materials that improves its grip when damp. There is an extended tang, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip.
Dry the blade after wet work and oil the pivot occasionally. D2 rewards that small effort.
In short, this is a proper working folder at a sensible price.
