The Mtech Linerlock A/O Orange is a small assisted-opening folder in bright colours. The blade measures 2.25in, so it slips into a pocket without any bulk. Push the extended tang and it opens with a snap.
The blade carries an orange TiNi coating over stainless steel. The coating does two jobs. For a start, it gives the blade its colour. It also puts a harder surface layer over the steel underneath. That helps a budget blade shrug off marks from daily use.
The Mtech Linerlock A/O Orange has a blue and orange ABS handle. ABS is light and cheap to replace if you lose it, which matters on a knife you actually use. It also ignores damp completely. A bottle opener is built into the handle. There is a lanyard hole and a pocket clip as well.
Looking after it takes seconds. Dry it off after wet work, and oil the pivot now and then to keep the assist snappy.
In short, this is a bright, cheap and genuinely handy little knife. It suits a toolbox, a tackle box or a teenager learning to carry one.
