The CJRB Ekko Button Lock Black is an all-black folder with a button lock. Press the button and the blade releases, both to open and to close. It is 4.25in closed with a 3.25in blade.
The steel is AR-RPM9, a powder metallurgy stainless developed for knives at this end of the market. Powder steels have a finer, more even grain than conventionally rolled steel. As a result, AR-RPM9 holds an edge better than the usual budget stainless while still sharpening without a fight. It also handles damp well. So it is a sensible middle ground between cheap steel and a full super steel.
The CJRB Ekko Button Lock Black has a stainless handle finished in black PVD to match the blade. Steel gives it a reassuring weight in the hand. There is a thumb pull, an extended tang and a pocket clip. A black nylon zippered storage case is included in the box.
Wipe it dry after wet work and oil the pivot occasionally to keep the button crisp.
