The Mtech Linerlock A/O Gold is a small assisted-opening folder. The blade measures just 2.25in. As a result, it stays sensible in most pockets. Push the extended tang and it snaps open in one motion.
The blade uses a Wharncliffe shape, which means the edge runs dead straight to the point. People often overlook that shape. However, it earns its place on everyday jobs. For a start, a straight edge cuts cleanly against a flat surface. It also gives you a fine point for opening packaging and picking at knots. In addition, the gold TiNi coating adds a little surface hardness as well as the colour.
The Mtech Linerlock A/O Gold uses a green and gold ABS handle. Because ABS costs little and weighs little, it suits a knife at this price. It also shrugs off damp without any care at all. Meanwhile the handle carries a bottle opener, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip.
Care stays minimal. So wipe it dry if it gets wet, and then put a drop of oil on the pivot occasionally.
